Most of our fuel (85%) is hauled by Malawian transporters and we have seen transporters taking advantage of this relationship by investing heavily in trucking. We collect various levies for government, and these are paid timely to ensure government programs for roads, rural electrification are always on track. We remit duties to MRA every fortnight to ensure that Government does not run out funds. Our monthly tax obligation is in the region of MK2 billion. Most of the banks are benefiting from the partnership we have in fuel importation financing. We insure our products with local insurance companies ensuring that the country benefits from our activities.
Our procurement system is very efficient and has resulted in savings for the country. All our contracts are approved by regulator prior to signing them. This ensures transparency and increases participation of reputable suppliers.
We have a very responsive supply chain and we have been able to bridge the gap where other importers have failed.
